16 September is designated as the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer. On this occasion, as part of the Empowering Women in Agrifood (EWA) program, we have prepared a special Masterclass devoted to increasing the ecological awareness, building sustainable companies and mutual exchange of experiences.
The agenda for this meeting, which will take place in Centralny Dom Technologii in Warsaw, included:
- “Carbon Footprint vs. Startups” – a debate, with Piotr Grabowski (co-founder, Foodtech.ac), Agnieszka Maciejowska (Co-founder & CEO, Plan Be Eco), Elżbieta Wyraz (EWA Poland Coordinator, Perspektywy Education FOundation), Justyna Wysocka-Golec (Sustainable Development Manager in Bureau Veritas Polska; Co-Founder & CEO LGM S.A.);
- “How to implement sustainable solutions in your company and limit your carbon footprint?” – a workshop conducted by Martyna Zastawna (Founder & CEO, WoshWosh; Co-Founder SzeptSzum).
There are still 2 months of intense work ahead of us. The program finale and the pitching competition, in which the 10 EWA participants will present their agriculture and food industry solutions, will take place on 17 November 2021. Empowering Women in Agrofood is a 5-month acceleration program realised by EIT FOOD and the Perspektywy Education Foundation. The EWA participants receive support from exceptional Mentors – agriculture and food industry specialists – as well as training in business and advice from notable industry experts tailor-made for their needs.
